The God of the Details

Dec 7, 2025    Pastor Arthur J. James

Psalm 139 unveils a profound truth about our relationship with God: He is intimately involved in every detail of our lives. This message explores three powerful observations about God's nature that should transform how we live. First, God is omniscient—He knows our thoughts before we think them, our words before we speak them, and every moment of our day. Second, God is omnipresent—we cannot escape His presence whether in the highest heavens or deepest valleys, in darkness or light. Third, God is the ultimate Creator—He knit us together in our mother's womb with intentional design and purpose. These truths aren't meant to frighten us but to secure us. When we understand that God knows everything, is everywhere, and created us uniquely, we can release our need for control and rest in His sovereignty. The challenge is to be still and magnify God rather than magnifying our problems. We often struggle because we haven't learned to surrender our circumstances to the One who already knows the outcome. This message calls us to embrace our God-given identity, trust in His detailed plan for our lives, and walk forward in faith knowing that the same God who parted the Red Sea can make a way through our impossible situations.
