Replaced by Rocks
This powerful Palm Sunday message challenges us to examine our response to the King who came in humility yet possessed all power. Drawing from Luke 19:36-40, we're confronted with a profound truth: things are not always as they appear. Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, not a warhorse, yet this humble entrance concealed divine authority that would transform all of human history. The crowd's mixed reactions mirror our own world today—some recognized and praised the King, while religious leaders demanded silence. This reveals a sobering reality: not everyone recognizes the King, even when standing in His presence. The sermon explores three critical insights from Jesus' triumphal entry: the deceptive nature of appearances, the tragedy of missed recognition, and the gift of personal choice. When the Pharisees tried to silence the praise, Jesus declared that if people remained quiet, the very rocks would cry out. This raises an urgent question for each of us: Will we be replaced by rocks? Are we allowing our busyness, doubts, or distractions to silence our witness? The King came not merely to fix our earthly circumstances but to offer eternal life through His death and resurrection. We're reminded that everyone must make their own choice, we cannot ride into heaven on someone else's faith. This Palm Sunday message calls us to recognize Jesus as King, to refuse to let stones cry out in our place, and to share this life-changing truth with a world that desperately needs to know Him.
