Our Story

How it all started...

The Transparent Church was organized in August of 2004  under the leadership of Pastor Arthur J. James and held its first official service the first Sunday in September of 2004 at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie, Texas.   The first service  was attended by 62 people in the ballroom of the Ruthe Jackson Center and the church's first members began to join and become involved in the church.  The church grew and ministered in the city for its first 9 years continuing to hold its Sunday and weekly Bible study classes at the RJC until the church built its first location approximately 1.5 miles from the RJC at its current location at 688 W. Pioneer Parkway Grand Prairie, TX 75051.  In  the early years of the church Pastor James and members would have to set up and tear down each week in order to have service like many new plant churches, but in 2013 the church moved into its first location and began to see growth with dedicated space to the TC Kids ministry and a fellowship area for the church at large.

Expanding the vision...

For the past several years the Transparent Church has partnered with several local events and organizations in order to expand the vision of allowing people to receive a clear view of Christ.  Each year since the city began the Big Event the Transparent Church has organized a team of volunteers to serve the residents of Grand Prairie.  In addition the church supports and partners with Grand Prairie United Charities to assist those who have multiple challenges in the city.

Where we are headed...

As we look forward to 2021 The Transparent Church is working to increase its reach into the community by continuing partnerships with the city and civic organizations.  Pastor James and the members are working to complete a goal of reaching 10,000 people with the Gospel through a partnership between the church and the pocket testament league helping to spread the message of Christ in creative ways to "equip the saints to do the work of ministry" by placing custom Gospel of John in the hands of each member this year.  The church is also exploring adopting a local school within the Grand Prairie and Arlington school districts.   In addition, the church is focused on continuing to improve its online ministry and is committed to reaching more people with the Gospel in Grand Prairie and beyond.
