Investing In Integrity
This week's message calls us to examine the foundation of our spiritual walk through the lens of integrity. Drawing from Proverbs 10:9 and Psalm 15, we're reminded that people with integrity walk safely, while those on crooked paths will eventually be exposed. The sermon challenges us to invest in three critical areas: immersing ourselves in God's Word and prayer, committing to truth-telling in all circumstances, and maintaining consistency between our public and private lives. We're confronted with the reality that integrity precedes intimacy with God—our worship and praise can feel empty when we're harboring dishonesty or living duplicitous lives. The message uses Jacob's story from Genesis 29 as a cautionary tale about deception, showing how lies eventually catch up with us. Perhaps most convicting is the call to be the same person in private as we are in public, echoing Paul's confrontation of Peter in Galatians 2 when Peter's behavior changed based on who was watching. In a world filled with fear and uncertainty, this message offers hope: when we walk in integrity, we walk in safety, knowing God covers us. The question we must answer is whether we're willing to invest in becoming people of our word, people who reflect God's character in every area of life.
