The Humble King

Apr 13, 2025    Pastor Arthur J. James

As we reflect on Palm Sunday and the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, we're reminded of three powerful lessons. First, we see the incredible humility of our Savior. Despite being King of Kings, Jesus chose to enter on a lowly donkey, fulfilling prophecy and demonstrating that true authority doesn't require pomp and circumstance. This challenges us to examine our own humility and how we wield influence in our lives. Secondly, we're shown that God's plans often differ from our expectations. Just as the people expected a conquering king but received a humble servant, we too must be open to God working in unexpected ways in our lives. Finally, we're called to praise Jesus as Savior, Lord, and King - not just with our words, but with our entire lives. This Palm Sunday, let's lay down our 'cloaks and palm branches,' surrendering our lives fully to Christ's lordship.
