Discerning the Will of God

What does it actually mean to discern the will of God, and how do we move from simply knowing about God to truly hearing from Him? This message takes us on a journey through Romans 12:1-2, where we are challenged not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That transformation, we discover, is not passive. It is the fruit of intentional, practiced disciplines that position us to receive what God has already prepared. We explore the critical difference between God's general will, that none should perish but all come to repentance, and His specific will for each of our individual lives. The insight here is striking: many of us want to skip the general and rush straight to the specific, seeking divine direction while bypassing the foundational surrender that makes that direction possible. When we get the general right, the specific begins to come into focus.
