Be The Example God Can Use

Nov 16, 2025    Pastor Kenneth Chapman

In a world that seems to have lost its moral compass, we're challenged to become living examples of faith that God can use. Drawing from Paul's letter to Titus, who was sent to minister in Crete—a place consumed by immorality and chaos—we discover three powerful principles for being examples in our modern age. First, we must show how faith works in real life, demonstrating trust in God even when circumstances are dire and our feelings betray us. Our faith must be visible during financial struggles, health crises, and family turmoil, proving that God's promises outweigh our problems. Second, we need sound, pure doctrine—knowing God's playbook so well that we can recognize the enemy's schemes and win life's battles. Without studying Scripture, we're vulnerable to every false teaching and cultural trend that contradicts God's truth. Finally, we must live in such a way that critics are silenced, giving them nothing negative to say about our faith. Every action, word, and decision becomes a billboard advertising either God's glory or the world's values. When we walk in holiness, handle business with integrity, and respond to difficulties with grace, we silence the skeptics and point others to Jesus. The question isn't whether the world is watching—it's whether what they see in us makes them want to know our God.
